Colby Lapolla (she/her) is a Los Angeles–based producer, vocal producer, engineer, and songwriter whose work across pop, R&B, indie, and alternative music has already positioned her as one of the most exciting rising forces in modern production. Known for an almost surgical ear and a knack for elevating any artist she touches, Colby brings a level of precision and taste that turns sessions into standout records.
A decade in Nashville sharpened her into the kind of creator who can do it all, and do it exceptionally well. She’s become known for pulling career-defining performances out of artists with ease, earning a reputation for “studio magic” shaped in part by mentorship from some of the biggest names in vocal production.
Her discography spans a wide range of major licensors, and the records she’s contributed to have pulled in millions of streams. Celebrated by prominent creators as a future “global hitmaker,” Colby is steadily, deliberately, and unmistakably living into that title.
Named to Splice’s Producers to Watch in 2025, she brings fresh energy into every room, adapts instantly to new creative environments, and pours intention into uplifting the next generation of women and gender-expansive voices in music.
In May 2023, she earned the sole full scholarship to Mix With the Masters at Studios La Fabrique—courtesy of We Are Moving the Needle—learning directly from Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo (“Despacito,” among others). She returned home with a renewed fire and translated that experience into major steps forward in her career.
Her recent work includes collaborations with AGNEZ MO, Madame Gandhi (MIA, Kehlani), Diane Warren, Disney, Hasbro, Beatport, Lunacy Audio, Output, Slate Digital, and many more. She is Dolby Atmos certified and completed her training under the guidance of Brian Malouf, Curtis “Sircut” Bye, and Athena Wilkinson, through EngineEars, She Is the Music, and UMGs’ MixHer program.
Colby is a full-scholarship alum of Mix with the Masters and actively collaborates with organizations like She Is the Music, We Are Moving the Needle, and SongWriteClub, in addition to being a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists. She also serves as a mentor with GirlsMakeBeats and is a voting member of the Producers and Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy.
